Literacy has emerged as an important theme over this year at Whiteside.  We have supported a wide array of literacy activities for all of our grades.  The Whiteside Wolfpack cozied up in their PJs and got out their flashlights to enjoy an afternoon of Flashlight Reading.  Buddy classes got together to share reading.  We were lucky enough to be well-supported by our curriculum consultant, Carrie Bourne.  She worked with our teachers to purchase an array of different books in French and English to support a wide variety reading levels and interests.  We are looking forward to continuing to support literacy into next school year by expanding our repertoire literacy games to increase engagement.  Literacy nights will bring families into the literacy conversation.
