Reading is fun! At Whiteside, we are working hard to build strong reading comprehension skills in all our Wolves. But building a sense of joy and excitement around reading is also important. We see buddy reading, silent reading, First Chapter Fridays, reading challenges and much more in our classrooms and library.

This spring we celebrated our reading achievements by having a school-wide picnic. On one morning, we all gathered in the gym to join our Family Teams. Then our grade 6 and 7 leaders took their groups out to our beautiful South Arm Park to find a cozy spot or a shady tree to read together.

Our Wolfpack had a lot of fun reading together. Thank you to the families that joined us. And, thank you to our amazing librarians and teachers for organizing this event.
