Whiteside Newsletter #37 - June 12, 2026
Dear Families,
What a fantastic Sports Day! We are so proud of our students for their enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and participation throughout the day.
A heartfelt thank you to all of our staff, volunteers, student leaders and PAC volunteers who helped make the event such a success. From organizing activities and supporting students to preparing stations and keeping the day running smoothly, their efforts created a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved.
We would also like to thank our Grade 7 student leaders for their outstanding contributions. Their leadership, responsibility, and positive attitudes helped make the day enjoyable for students across all grade levels.
As we look ahead to next week, much of our focus will shift toward preparing for Grade 7 Graduation. Students involved in the ceremony will be rehearsing, and staff will be busy preparing the gym and finalizing plans for this special celebration. At the same time, teachers will be completing the final stages of report cards as we approach the end of the school year.
Thank you for your continued support throughout the year. As we enter these final weeks of Term 3, we look forward to celebrating our students’ accomplishments and creating many more meaningful memories together.
Thank you for your care and support. You make Whiteside a special community to learn, teach, and play.
Ms. Sara Lai, Acting Principal
The Richmond Board of Education acknowledges and thanks the First Peoples of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ language group on whose traditional and unceded territories we teach, learn and live.
FROM OUR WOLFPACK
Div. 4 recently explored the art of mosaics and then put their learning into practice by creating their own mosaic masterpieces using construction paper.
The level of detail, creativity, and sophistication displayed in these pieces is remarkable. Students carefully considered colour, shape, pattern, and composition as they transformed simple materials into stunning works of art. Their patience, perseverance, and attention to detail are evident in every piece. Please see the below for Miriam and Emma’s works of art!
