Board of Education Approves Catchment for New City Centre School

The Richmond School District is pleased to share that the Board of Education has approved the catchment area for the new elementary school at Odlin Crescent during its public board meeting on January 21, 2026.

The journey toward this new school began with the purchase of the Odlin Crescent site on June 23, 2025, to support enrolment growth in Richmond’s city centre. In accordance with the School Act and district policy, every new school requires a designated catchment area.

The city centre catchment review process was launched on September 3, 2025, and was open for public feedback until October 27, 2025. Our community shared their perspectives through an online survey, virtual school-based meetings and two public open houses. District staff reviewed this feedback carefully, and it played an important role in informing the final catchment approved by the board.

The new catchment area for Odlin Crescent Elementary School defines where students living in Richmond’s city centre will attend school beginning in September 2026. Families whose catchment area has changed will receive a direct email shortly with information specific to their address and school placement for September 2026. Families whose catchment area has not changed will receive no further communication.
