As we wrap up another wonderful school year, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our entire Whiteside community. Thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and the many ways you support our students and our school each day. Together, we have created a caring, vibrant learning community where children can thrive.

On a personal note, Ms. Rooney and I, Ms. Lai, feel incredibly fortunate to be part of your children's learning journeys and the Whiteside community. It truly is a special place because of the kindness, generosity, and spirit of our students, families, and staff.

A reminder to families to please access MyEducation BC to view your child's Learning Summary (Progress Report).

We wish all of our Whiteside families a safe, relaxing, and adventure-filled summer. We hope you enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring your community, discovering new places, and making wonderful memories together. And, of course, don't forget to read a great book or two along the way!

Yearbooks

Students who were absent on the last day of school may pick up their yearbook from the school office next week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday during office hours. Any remaining yearbooks can also be picked up when the school office reopens on Monday, August 31.

First Day of School

Our first day back to school will be Tuesday, September 8. Grade 1–7 students will come to school at 10:00 a.m. before being dismissed at 11:00 a.m. More details will be emailed at the end of August.

On Wednesday, September 9, Grade 1–7 students will meet in their previous classrooms and will attend for a full day (8:45 a.m.–2:45 p.m.).

Kindergarten Families

Group A Kindergarten students will enter through the main entrance at 9:00 a.m., and Group B Kindergarten students will enter through the main entrance at 11:00 a.m. Each student's first Kindergarten session will be approximately 60 minutes. Additional information regarding Kindergarten gradual entry was shared with families earlier this month.

Please note that the Whiteside office will be closed from July 4 to August 30. If you have any questions during that time, please feel free to reach out, and we will respond as soon as possible.
