For our fall data collection we asked the students:

What will you be learning this year that you are excited about?

What do you want to learn this year that you want your teacher to know about?

What helps you be successful at school?

Tell us about a friend you have at school?  How do you know they are a friend?

What makes you feel like you belong to the school?

What make you feel like you belong to your class?

Across primary and intermediate students, math, science, French and music were areas that they were excited to learn about.  Their answers to the question "What helps you be successful at school?" found they were connected to teachers and friends.  A quiet place to learn was also helpful.  We are curious about providing students continued opportunities to learn about math, science, French and music but also get excited about engaging in literacy practices, strengthening their abilities in reading and writing.   Additionally, we are wondering if students can start to broaden tools they use to be calm, alert and ready to learn.
