Orange Shirt Day was developed to honour residential school survivors and takes its name from the experience of one child, Phyllis Webstad, who proudly wore her new orange shirt to school and had it taken from her by the nuns. We will be commemorating Orange shirt day during the week of September 30 – October 4. Tie-dyed scarves from two years ago are available to loan to students. On both Monday, September 30 and on Friday, October 4, 2019, we will ask all students to wear orange – either a t-shirt from home, or the scarf, or both.
Alert: K-12 in-class instruction is currently suspended in all Richmond schools. — Read more… ×
