As most of you now know, the proposal made to the board by Shery Elwood, our superintendent, did not include Whiteside (report can be found here). While the report does not mention Whiteside, you can be sure that there will be an effect on the larger community, which will trickle into our school. We need to be as understanding and welcoming as possible as changes begin for the schools that are closing and for the schools accepting the majority of students. The process is not yet complete, as the Richmond School Board still needs to accept the report (see earlier news post). I want to thank you all for the hard work you put into supporting our school as you worked through the possibility of closure. We can now look into the 2016-2017 school year with an open mind for long term possibilities. I am excited to join you all in this amazing learning journey. A thank you letter from our PAC can be found here.
